Abstract
Technical and vocational education is one of the most important fields in building today’s world, as it directly contributes to development and the advancement of knowledge and technology in all areas of life, particularly in higher technical institutes. This type of education is directly linked to meeting the evolving needs of society. However, it faces challenges and obstacles in implementing its academic and technical programs and in improving what meets the community's needs. This, of course, requires identifying the main obstacles and difficulties that prevent the achievement of quality standards.
The aim of this study was to identify the major obstacles to applying quality standards in higher technical institutes and propose solutions to overcome these obstacles. The researcher used a descriptive analytical approach to describe the phenomenon under study. A questionnaire was used to collect primary data, which was tested on a sample of 80 faculty members. The reliability of the questionnaire was tested using the Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient, and then 63 valid questionnaires were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS).
