Most historical sources almost unanimously agree that this was one of the most difficult periods in which the country experienced severe economic conditions. This was due to the consequences of the resistance wars against the Italians, as well as the effects of the Second World War, in addition to the natural conditions and factors represented by the waves of drought that struck the country at the time and their repercussions on the economic life of the local population.Since the region of Misrata was one of the Libyan areas directly affected by these circumstances, this study seeks to shed light on some aspects of the economic and living conditions of the people of Misrata during the aforementioned period.
