Abstract:
The housing problem in the present era is a contemporary issue that has become increasingly severe in developing countries. Housing production has become weak when compared to the annually growing population and the size of investments allocated to this important sector, which remain modest and inconsistent. Both the population growth and investments have a significant impact on housing production and achieving the required quantity to partially alleviate this problem.
Visible evidence and demographic and financial investment data indicate a production deficit that cannot keep pace with the population growth and housing demand. This is especially critical when considering the need to provide housing for the population through rental options to ease the burden on the large segment of low-income people, whose numbers continue to rise due to the continuous increase in the prices of consumer goods and building materials.
